THE PROGRAMMES

The Sure Pro has 11 pre-set and 3 custom programmes.

Here’s an example of the first 4 programmes available;

The STRESS incontinence programme strengthens the muscles of the pelvic floor using gentle stimulation. Once muscular strength has been improved these muscles are better able to resist urinary leakage caused by external pressure being applied to the bladder such as with a cough, sneeze or physical exertion. The stimulation causes the muscles to contract and work thereby building their strength. Successful treatment requires stimulation once a day or once every other day for one to three months. Improvement starts becoming apparent after about four weeks. It helps to keep a record of leakage problems so that you have an objective measure of your progress. The sensation is like a strong drawing in of the muscles of the vagina, pulling up of the pelvic floor. Your natural reaction will be to pull in and up your muscles, thereby exercising and strengthening them.

The URGE incontinence programme reduces the involuntary contractions of the bladder (detrusor) muscle. This prevents the unwanted and unexpected emptying of the bladder. Successful treatment will require daily stimulation and improvements can be seen in as little as two weeks. The sensation is of a longer and softer pulling in of the pelvic floor than the Stress programme.

Lack of Sensation – After surgery or childbirth, you may find that you have good muscle control, but experience a lack of sensitivity. This can be due to nerve damage and is a problem that can be helped with the programme.

The Pain Relief programme helps treat pain in the pelvic area. It is particularly useful for treating vulvodynia, a condition that can cause burning, stinging, irritation and rawness in the female genital area.

Safety Warning – Do NOT use the Sure Pro under the following circumstances: If you have a heart pacemaker or a heart rhythm problem, if any discomfort occurs when inserting the probe, consult your physician or Continence Advisor before use. Do not use if you have been diagnosed or treated for cervical cancer, if you have, or have had, epilepsy. Can not be used if you are using a copper coil, but the Mirena coil is fine. If you are pregnant – The Sure Pro is not suitable for use during pregnancy. After the birth of your baby we recommend you begin to use only when you feel you are ready and not before your six-week postpartum check up.

ELECTRODES: If you are not a fan of using a probe, and suffer from urge or faecal incontinence, you have the option to use electrodes as an alternative. You will be supplied with the electrodes and the manual will contain a positional diagram for these electrodes. Giving you an alternative by stimulating the tibial nerve
PAIN RELIEF: the Sure Pro also comes with a TENS programme to help provide pain relief and pain relief management from chronic pelvic pain. Giving you the opportunity to relieve any form of pain, should you be suffering from it.
COMFORTABLE STIMULATION: The Sure Pro increases in 1 mA steps of intensity. This helps to give you more choice of intensity and find one that’s suitable and comfortable for you. SAFETY: your safety is paramount and we want you to feel confident using the Sure Pro. that is why it has open circuit detection capabilities meaning the device will reset to 0 to avoid any potential shocks or injuries.
